A lot of the sermons that I have listened to over the years of my life have been geared toward this idea of imminent freedom. These words have done well to give me hope of what’s to come, but to be honest, they have also fueled some confusion and frustration in my walk with Christ.

I have experienced God move quickly and suddenly in many seasons of my life, but there have been a great deal of times where things took longer than I expected. Over time I have realized that God will expedite some things and He will slow down other things. He is apparent in the miraculously sudden movements just as much as He is in the agonizingly slow ones.

He is definitely the God that says “Yes!” And He is equally the God that will say, “but not yet.”

So what do you do when you earnestly pray for something and God responds by saying, “Yes you can have it,” as He escorts you to a waiting room?

What do you do when you receive confirmation that God will answer your prayer, but only in due time?

These are seasons that we are seldom prepared for. I am familiar with the God who will do it suddenly. I am familiar with it being my winning season and with it being my time for reaping. I am familiar with sudden shifts and the assurance that God is getting ready to do it.

So, who is this God who planned for me to wait? Who is the One who orchestrates my suffering and who delights in my weaknesses? Who is this God who would allow me to suffer and feel pain in order to gain something good?

When God Says,“Yes…But Not Yet.” addresses the side of our relationship with Christ that we struggle with the most and gives language, understanding, and hope through it. For anyone new to the faith, growing tired of the faith, or lost in the faith, this book will meet you, hug you, and lift you from a place of defeat to a place of purpose and peace.

When God Says, "Yes...But Not Yet."
